Fashion Technology

The Department of Fashion Technology offers 3 year diploma course in Fashion Technology . The Course was started in 2006 under RGTU & having intake of 60 student.

Initial in department was running as “Costume Design & Dress Making”. Latter on in 2006 it was converted into Fashion Technology.

The Department of Fashion Technology is all set to mould the future of enthusiastic aspirants to the exciting world of garments and fashion. The Department is going to play a catalytic role to bring professionalism in the fashion Industry. The Department is committed to develop professionals for taking up leadership positions in fashion business in the emerging global scenario. The curriculum comprises wide range of Textiles & Clothing, Quality Assurance, Fashion Designing and Managerial aspects pertaining to domestic and export garment industry
     

A devoted and enthusiastic team comprising faculty and laboratory staff on the one hand and well-laid out laboratories equipped with the latest in garment and associated machinery on the other, provide a personal touch to ensure that the students imbibe the practical skills in garment manufacture and fashion design that industry is constantly on the lookout for

The course is designed to cater the apparel industry’s overall need with more scientific and professional approach to meet out the cut throat competition from the neighboring countries. 

Apart from the regular class room activities the Department organizes periodic Industrial visits for the students to visit various industries pertaining to Textiles & Clothing. These visits help the students to enhance their first hand knowledge in their field of specialization. Industrial experts and Academic experts are frequently invited by the Department for giving lectures and to interact with the students. These kinds of activities will give wide exposure about the time to time updates in the industry to the students and faculties
