The Community Scheme: Introduction
Introduction
Community scheme is running under Human resources Development Ministry,
Government of India, New Delhi, since 1986. The soul purpose of this scheme
is to provide free of cost technical & professional education to rural
Mass by approaching their doors and to guide them for employement in Industrial
area and Self employment.Apart from this, this scheme also provides technical
education,help,services and community services to weaker section, backward
classes and minority classes, which can not obtain such training programmes
or not aware of technology to help them for self employement or employment.
The scheme envisaged the Community Polytechnics to act as important centres
for the application of Science and Technology in rural areas and and generate
self and wage based employment opportunities, through non formal training,
towards and competency and need based courses, in various trades and multiple
skills.
CS in Govt. Poly. Khargone
In GPCK, the Community Polytechnic Scheme was started in 1998. Grant-aid from Govt. of India for current
year has been received ,for this scheme.Till date total 3785 persons are trained, out of
which 2488 are Mans & 1297 are number of women Trainees.
GPCK has set up a main center within the institution,
to undertake various activities of the C.P. Scheme:
Extension Centers are being established every year and in order to cover
maximum target area/people, location of extension centers is shifted from
place to place, depending on the needs and priorities. Skill development
training programs, relevant to the community needs are being imparted through
extension centers.
The trade-wise distribution of persons succesfully trained in various trades,
under the community polytechnic Scheme, during second session of Oct 2006
to March 2007 as under:-
1. Electrician Trade-71.
2. Motor Winding-56.
3. Embroidery-25.
4. Garment Making-43
5. Typing-38.
6. Book Keping-19.
7. Computer Application-36.
